I assure you that my chinese immigration clients would disagree with you as to my knowledge of chinese culture and values, in fact, not only did i just have the honor of attending a 30 day party for a clients baby (part of their culture),in chinatown,Boston, but i also just returned from visiting a client in China. Now onto your statement as to my knowledge of the struture of companies, being that you have no factual basis for that, not knowing my education and experience, we will chalk your statement up to ignorance. As for my reading habits, they include the Wall Street Journal, Boston Globe, and Baltimore Sun, as well as just finishing reading "The Art of War" by Sun TZU for the third time. Hmmmm, that would also be chinese culture in case you did not know.

What cities are you considering for 2009?

JD

Being that you have stated numerous times that you will not give out specific info until you are sure of production, can you at least give us what cities you are "considering" for 2009 release, of course considering being defined as: (1) would like to do; (2)thinking about doing; (3)have drafts for; (4) have pre-produciton molds for, but are not in production yet?

No new excuses this email...just same old same old...and remember "go vote"...thanks for the reminder JD....hopefully code 3 can get out a new model before the next president takes office...production must still be off from the china earthquake and olympics....seems china can produce everything else, i.e. clothes, toys, electronics, tainted milk, but not code 3's apparatus...or maybe those factories were not closed by the earthquake and olympics...just the one code 3 uses...but then again, only JD knows, and he ain't telling

Is Code 3 planning any boston apparatus for 2009 or new chicago apparatus, and if so, what?

Question, are there any plans to release a new boston piece in any scale?

Re: Is JD really listening to the collector?

I have been known to call JD into question on numerous occasions here, and have been the subject of critizcizm for that, which i accept. I have always operated under the the premise that challenging someone will produce results. That being said, when praise is worthy, it should be give. While JD has refused, for some unknown reason, to honor our requests for previews of upcoming models, as we are use to, the most recent models which we were finally able to view are stunning. The Yonkers christmas and getty's are sure sellers, and JD deserves praise for there quality / design. In addition, the view of the alf ladder is promising. JD, can you now please keep us updated on the quarterly releases, even if they are like the alf you displayed at pasttime hobbies?

Re: Is JD really listening to the collector?

October 10, 2008 by jmiiiesq

"Collectors checking out 5 new releases on display for the first time ever at Past –Time Hobbies." Is this guy for real or what...he has the balls to show a picture of people checking out the 5 new releases, when you cannot really see the releases, yet he refuses the calls of the "vocal minority" to let us see them. JD, you really have to start teaching your own marketing class...it should really prove to be a humm dinger.

Re: NEW EXCUSES FOR JD TO USE IN THE FUTURE

October 10, 2008 by jmiiiesq

Damn, i ran out of excuses, can't use the stock market crashing, recession in every major country, or oil and gas prices declining, can i?...na...they didn't buy the china earthquake or olympics, so i just won't send out a newsletter this week. JD

Re: Poll: Will the August U.S. Navy ARFF release come out before October?

October 7, 2008 by jmiiiesq

is it not sad that the "vocal minority" have to read about it all on another website..."JD Marketing 101" at its best...

Re: Poll: Will the August U.S. Navy ARFF release come out before October?

October 5, 2008 by jmiiiesq

SOMETHING THE "VOCAL MINORITY" WAS NOT IMPORTANT ENOUGH TO BE ABLE TO SEE WITH A WORKSHOP UPDATE.

Re: Is JD really listening to the collector?

October 5, 2008 by jmiiiesq

Seems that the minority who were able to attend the past time event may have been able to see upcoming releases...by all accounts in the advertising...now you would think that JD and the gang would have updated the workshop with pics for the vocal minority here who did not live close enough, but instead he updates the workshop with meaningless garbage reference suggestions about displaying your code 3 products....thats listening 101 JD

"No doubt there will be comments on no new release again! This is true and not true." JD

Query, how can something be true and not true, John. Either there was a release or there was not!

"there will be another release later in October and I want to be assured of the production date before the model is announced." JD

Query, if you want to be assured of the production date before the model is announced, then why did you state: "REMEMBER THE CODE 3 DAY AT PAST-TIME HOBBIES THIS WEEKEND! See the information below . . . PREVIEW New models in the planning stage / Pre production samples on display" Is there a release date for these models that you are sure of being that you will be announcing them to the limited few who are fortuante enough to be close to Pst Time Hobbies, or are we here just the "vocal minority" not worthy of such announcements?

Perhaps a course called Marketing by John Dunkel – Director Code 3 Collectibles to provide an explanation!

NEW EXCUSES FOR JD TO USE IN THE FUTURE

The fire trucks, like the recent food coming out of China, is tainted.

Re: TDA Defects

so much for the statement that current corgi apparatus are inferior in quality

Re: Is JD really listening to the collector?

September 26, 2008 by jmiiiesq

Well, JD, thanks for the update on all the bad news in the news recently. I am sure all of us in the "minority" have been living in a cave and needed such an update. As for the good news, there did not seem to be anything that has not laready been promised, and missed on the part of JD. I bet we all in the "minority" look forward to the weekly substantive updates JD.

Re: Poll: Would you buy a newly released Ferrara?

September 24, 2008 by jmiiiesq

One of the best looking trucks made...code 3 should think about doing the whole houston line...

Re: Is JD really listening to the collector?

September 19, 2008 by jmiiiesq

Well, does this weeks newsletter from JD have any substance at all. I guess we who are referred to as the vocal minority are not worthy of a substantive weekly newsletter. No explanation for not, at least, posting the pictures for the months release, even though we are half way through the month. And interestingly, has anyone taken note of the fact that the pasttime hobbies day will feature models for 2009. JD and the bunch can produce the 2009 lineup for the few lucky enough to be near pasttime hobbies, yet he cannot post anything here. Way to go JD, thats really listening, as you said you were just a few weeks ago. perhaps a marketing class at a local college might be considered. AGAIN, JD, YOU DID IT YOUR WAY.

Re: Is JD really listening to the collector?

September 14, 2008 by jmiiiesq

neither statement by "guest" or "Dar15227" addresses the underlying issues.

Re: Is JD really listening to the collector?

September 12, 2008 by jmiiiesq

As for most of the "I think when it comes to forums; you're unfortunately stuck with the vocal minority" as JD made a point of putting the "note" in his weekly message to refer to us, are request has not changed. Less FDNY, less bullcrap in the newsletters about trips around the country, ect, and more emphasis on the workshop and keeping us informed as to upcoming apparatus through pictures, as they did in the past. This most recent newsletter from JD should be found to be insulting by the "vocal minority" in the forum. Even, arguably, if we gave credit to JD's statements about earthquakes, olympics, ect, JD has yet to either address the issue of lack of updating the workshop with pictures of future apparatus by stating he has no control over the webpage (which apparently he does since we got a "top down" view),or in the alternative, adhering to the "vocal minority" requests. Being that JD has admitted the line for 2009 is being worked on, and being that JD has admitted that there is much work that goes into each vehicle, one has to wonder why, at a minimum, he does not adhere to the "vocal minority" request of updating the workshop, even if it were just drawings of prospective apparatus, or pictures of the actual apparatus. JD's mere avoidance of such a simple request, and then to put an alleged "note" from a co-worker,only re-enforces the "vocal minority" belief that our comments are neither respected, nor taken seriously. In fact, the incorporation of the note was an intentional insult by JD to the people on the forum. Even more insulting is the fact that JD used an alledged worker to make the insult. In the end, JD is not listening, and still adhering to that old song by the great one, "I did it my way". (interestingly, JD again has skirted the issue of no release this month, as well as the poll results reference people being tired of his excuses. WAY TO GO JD!

Re: Is JD really listening to the collector?

September 8, 2008 by jmiiiesq

which does not preclude them from posting the monthly release, taking orders and putting a date for shipping...again, JD has spit in everyone's face by stating he is listening to the forum, and then not even posting the monthly release so we can view it (something they did with the crash trucks, which have not even shipped yet)

Re: Should JD be allowed to continue to miss release dates, fail to update the workshop with anything substantial, send out useless weekly emails, and ask polling questions that have nothing to do with what cities the members want?

September 6, 2008 by jmiiiesq

yes or no, if you would, it is a poll for JD to look at

Should JD be allowed to continue to miss release dates, fail to update the workshop with anything substantial, send out useless weekly emails, and ask polling questions that have nothing to do with what cities the members want?

September 5, 2008 by jmiiiesq

Yes or no?

Re: Is JD really listening to the collector?

September 5, 2008 by jmiiiesq

JD will cry olympics, earthquake, ect. in China again....oh, wait, he has used those before, and cannot since the crash trucks will be shipping soon...hmmm, what novel, excuse can he come up with this time...of course, taht will not explain why he could not post the pictures of the September release...perhaps he should start a poll with excuses he can use in the future!!!

Re: Is JD really listening to the collector?

September 5, 2008 by jmiiiesq

The question which arises from this weeks email from JD is plain and simple, does anyone in the forum really care about the poll and or results? I mean, does this, what i see as worthless email, answer any of the questions or concerns that have been voiced in the forum. And i am sorry, but is the "view from the top" suppose to appease are demand to see upcoming releases, or is it a slap in the case to us by JD. I mean, really, does he expect this to appease us? Again, JD's words of two weeks ago that he is listening have not been proven by his actions.

Re: JD LISTEN please. THESE ARE THE MAJOR DEPARTMENTS WE WANT you to take a look at.

September 3, 2008 by jmiiiesq

JD's not listening...thankfully corgi has announced that they will be making the apparatus they had advertised prior to the sale of the company, atleast we have something other than fdny to look forward to from another quality company

Re: JD LISTEN, THESE ARE THE MAJOR DEPARTMENTS WE WANT

August 30, 2008 by jmiiiesq

Well rescue42, i would agree, and that would be the result of people not following simple directions...when i started this thread, i tried to narrow it down to geographical areas, and then try to come to a consensus about a major city in each geographical area, but unfortunatly, people are just throwing out anything on this thread, imean smokeysjs threw out 6 from california, the problem will always be that no one will take the time to follow the directions, thus giving JD all the wiggle room he needs to keep up his current conduct

Re: Is JD really listening to the collector?

August 29, 2008 by jmiiiesq

Well, in the most recent "latest news from Code 3" we learned absolutely nothing. I guess those in the greater Chicago area have something to look forward to, if they are close enough to pasttime hobbies, but for the rest of us, it seems with JD's refusal to listen to us and get the workshop going, we will not get to view the upcoming die casts that will be displayed at pastime hobbies. Again, this week, JD has failed to listen to the collectors here on the forum. So much for his statement last week that he is listening.

Re: Poll: In your opinion, what do you believe Code 3 needs to focus on to improve its line of fire & rescue collectibles?

August 27, 2008 by jmiiiesq

does the mere question JD poised raise concerns. Should the collector have to pick one of the four, or should the company management be maintaining the highest quality in all four categories. This poll is nothing more than JD's way of skirting the underlying complaints of the consumers who take the time to participate in this forum.

HERE IS A CHALLENGE JD, in your next poll, divide the country up into geographical regions of your liking, list major departments in each geographical area, and then ask the comsumers who particiate in this forum to vote on one major deparment from each geographical area they wish to see produced, post the results, and then lets see if code 3 can stick to the results.

Re: JD LISTEN, THESE ARE THE MAJOR DEPARTMENTS WE WANT

August 24, 2008 by jmiiiesq

firemedic2829, that is exactly the point of this thread...for when you narrow it down to a major dept from each geographical area, then you are also looking at a major supplier, take for instance if someone had said Houston, they just updated their fleet with Ferrara's, and they are beautiful looking, major departments buy in bulk from one manufacturer, so if we can narrow down the departments by to one or two from each geagraphical area, then it makes it easier for code 3, and gives JD less wiggle room reference excuses

Re: JD LISTEN please. THESE ARE THE MAJOR DEPARTMENTS WE WANT you to take a look at.

August 24, 2008 by jmiiiesq

"Not crossing anything off "my" list"...damn, does this statement remind anyone of a five year old....can you add Boston to your list....lmao

Re: JD LISTEN, THESE ARE THE MAJOR DEPARTMENTS WE WANT

August 24, 2008 by jmiiiesq

exactly firefighter4life88, everyone does have their own opinion, and that was the purpose of this thread...to put out ideas, hoepfully broken down to geographical regions, have a gainful discussion if there was more than one department in a geographical region, see if there could be a consensus of a major department for each region, and pass that along to code 3 for consideration. As for fireman888, his ramble is hardly worthy of comment since he failed to comprehend the intent behind this thread, while others did, as well as failing to list the cities he wanted considered, as the thread asked, and then shows up late and expects cities listed in otehr threads to be listed here. Hopefully, the collectors who visit this thread, the mere 12 who took part, which seems to offend fireman888, will keep on suggesting, as well as others joining with constructive discussion, there can be open dialogue, without the venom of people such as fireman888, and some productive suggestions can be passed to code 3.
