New Flag Set
everyone likes them! This is in no way talking badly about Code 3, I just know I'm going to be making some heavy purchases from you in the next 2 months with the 2 FDNY units coming out in October, and I just want see how
everyone likes the "Flag set" before I make the purchase. My budget seems to be getting smaller because of the holidays coming up, and I'm not passing up on the FDNY stablemates in October. So I just want to see what everyone thinks about the set before I purchase it. Thanks.
I have the set right here. They are very nice. The only problem is, the factory forgot to put the directions sheet in the boxes. Ken told me he would post the directions on how to attech these flags to the trucks, but I still have not found that post. So to answer your question, Yes, I like them and would love to be able to attach them. Brian
I like them too and would also like to know how to attach them to the trucks
Sorry all, I've been so busy that I forgot. I'll make an official post, but for now...
* Find a spot on the truck where there is an assembly line and gently press the flag pole into the small opening. Between the body of the truck and the ladder is a good place to fit the flag.
* Use a very fine (Dremel) size drill bit to drill a hole in the location you want and insert the pole. A drop of glue on the pole before inserting will secure the flag.
* Super Glue is recommended as the best adhesive to glue the Flag at an angle or straight up at an appropriate location on the truck. Follow the glue instructions, put a small amount of glue on the pole and hold in place until set, usually one minute.
* For you really serious modelers – fashion a flag holder out of a small cocktail straw, paint the straw with aluminum spray paint, allow to dry thoroughly, mount to desired spot on truck with super glue , insert flag pole into holder. This will allow you to remove the flag when you wash your truck or play with it.

"Ahem"... True collectors of precision diecast miniature emergency response vehicles would NEVER "play" with their trucks. On the other hand, any responsible collector should have a regular preventive maintenance program in place to periodically remove his/her rolling stock from their display cases and push them along on a firm, flat surface (dining room tables work nicely) to ensure the sirens and lights are in proper working order, the tires aren't flat spotted and/or dry rotting, the wheel bearings aren't seized up from lack of lubrication, etc. etc. :-)
