Can't view the forum.....Help!?

I am posting this from my parents' home (ahh, the joys of house-sitting).   Ever since the most recent upgrade by Lefora, I have not been able to view the forum on my own home computer.  All that will load is the masthead at the top of the page.  The rest of the browser box remains blank white.   I have tried using three different web browsers, all to no avail.

I am wondering if there is some kind of glitch in the software, or if my aging computer is simply no longer compatible with the latest upgrade, and I am "S.O.L." as the expression goes.

Everything seems to work fine here, and others who frequent both boards (this, and FireEngines.net) have said they aren't experiencing problems, which makes me think it's my machine, specifically.

Any (serious, legit) input is welcome.   Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing Code 3 switch to a different forum software altogether, but unfortunately, that's not my decision to make.

Let me know what browser and operating system you are using and I'll be able to help.

I am unaware of any upgrade of the Lefora forum software, but I do know that Flash is required for full use.

Sorry, but we are stuck with this forum for now. If it was my choice, we would be using something else. It is my goal to switch, but I couldn't tell you when/if it would happen,

I am using an "old" iMac (bought new in early 2001).  It's only ever had one OS upgrade.  It came with 9.something, and was upgraded to an early version of OS X (10.2.3 or something like that).

Browsers used are Safari, Netscape and Internet Explorer.

I think the Flash might be the problem, now that you mention it.   Other sites I visit are prompting me to upgrade that, and I'm not sure if there is a compatible upgrade that is still within my system's capability.   Never have been the "techno geek" type who was on top of all that.   I figure as long as it does what I need it to do, it's all good.   Unfortunately, aside from being "slow", it's now starting to not play very well with more than one site (can't hear music on MySpace, can't use Mapquest, etc.) and it's too far outdated for a compatible upgrade.

I guess I'll just have to save up for a new one, somehow.

With a system that old, I would expect problems with some newer websites. The forum uses Flash for editing posts and CSS2 for formatting the page. All compatible browsers appear to need 10.4 or above.

However, you could try an older version of  Opera that is still available: Opera 8  (supports 10.2) which might help, it's from 2007  - http://arc.opera.com/pub/opera/mac/854/en/

There is also a Flash plug-in for earlier 10.x OS's at the Adobe website as well.

If you need any help with the above let know.

Thanks for the info.   I will give that a try and see what happens.
