This recent announcement has created a great deal of discussion from fears it will be like the first ALF to claims of collectors finally getting excited over this news. The latter is something I have not seen in recent history. I look at this as Code-3's Opportunity to Redeem Themselves, to return to the glory days of the past.
To me this is the "Final Test" for Code-3. This is Code-3's Alamo if you will. Do this one right, dot the I's and cross the T's. Go the extra mile if it kills you and correct the past errors that have plagued you. Double, triple, quadruple check for accuracy and if it is not there.... PUT IT THERE.. CORRECT IT AND MAKE IT RIGHT!!! Everyone will be watching.
Furthermore, please don't insult us by posting "letters" explaining away the problems repeatedly encountered as being due to unrealistic expectations by the collectors as this is totally absurd... (eg: Gettysburg).
Over the years YOU set the Bar for Quality... YOU set the Bar for Accuracy... and rightfully so, that is until the last few years. Here is your chance to Change all this and to reclaim your former self. If this one ends up being error riddled as in recent releases, then you will have simply wasted your time and that of your collector base. With that, I cannot imagine anyone believing anything from Code-3 any more.
Carpe Di C-3... Sieze the Code-3 !!!
I also agree with motorcade, if future releases are not "up to par," than I think C3 will suffer major losses and lose it's loyal customer base. Well put motorcade!
I for one am looking forward to the new ALF TDA. I am a long time ALF fan and this is surely to be a nice addition to Code 3.
I do to, and plan to buy it, only if it's accurate enough were you can't write a Paragraph about the mistakes on it!
Good job Motorcade. I have been saying the same thing for the last 5 years or more. Do it right or don't do it. You now have some real competition out there that appears to be doing a real quality job and following up with good customer service according to what I hear. They are also talking with collectors even though they do not have an active website that is aimed at customer communication. So what if the scale is different. That has nothing to do with a quality job. Yat Ming started out selling 1/24 replications and sold a lot but then start duplicating them in 1/43 because some collectors asked for a smaller scale and now they are doing a brisk business in both scales. Why - Quality products. Mr. JD needs to impress his bosses with the message that the almost correct models are just not good enough for the collectors that know how to compare the model to any version of the 'original' and know if it was correct or just a almost but not close enough. I just have to save a few more dollars and get quality that is a step higher - a big step. Either C3 needs to get with the program or concentrate on making those bigger toys with lights and sirens for the kids.
