Did anyone notice all the Squirt 43's on Ebay?

Just did an Ebay search for Philadelphia fire and turned up at least five sellers all from Hong Kong selling the Squirt 43 model and one has nine available. Now with the problems that Code 3 had with these trucks I'm not sure I would shell out that kind of money only to find out the model is not 100% but that's just my opinion.
Do any of you think it's a worthwhile investment?

Watch buying from Hong Kong.  My wife bought me a Jack Daniels ladder truck, paid via pay pal and never received the truck.  Finally got her money back through paypal.  Plus the shipping is outragious.

I'd be careful.  I bought a Squad 61 from HK.

No certificate & broken pieces. Claims certificate was lost yet sold as MIB.

Seller got real upitty when I suggested it was a factory second.

Hong Hong trucks are 99% of the time fake and if you suggest they are fake, they will tear your head off and go on the defensive, so buy carefully. Hope this helps.

I purchased a couple of Code 3 engines from Hong Kong. They are definately rejected models from who ever Code 3 uses to manufacture their products. They are great for kitbashing. Sadly though, everytime I've purchased something from Hong Kong, I start getting alot of SPOOF E-mails for both Ebay and PayPal..

I bought one unit from a Hong Kong seller. I was happy to be honest, and I recieved all the proper paperwork, unit brand new, everything in line! The only killer is the shipping! But, thanks for the warning because they seem to be popping up all over the place in the last 2 months, and being somewhat new to collecting Code 3 units, I would have never thought twice about them being fakes! Thanks guys!

Two thoughts on this....

#1...   Where are these all coming from...???  Is C-3 being victimized by disloyal Chinese workers or did they just get tossed into the dumpsters and now "Dumpster Divers" are simply recovering them for resale...??

#2...   As for getting one MIB or as a Refugee from a Demolition Derby is literally a Crap Shoot.  However, if for nothing else, they should be great for the parts...

Yeah, good for parts but for the prices they are asking you would expect
MIB with COA.

I bought one from IMP09, came in mint condition w/ certifiacte for $110 + $62 shipping w/ insurance. I guess it's the luck of the draw, but IMHO it's one of the nicest Diamond plate models...
