How did this get past quality control?  Seriously, I'd love to hear an explanation.  I just don't understand how this happens when you claim that Code 3 is back on track.

The black paint should go across the front of the cab under the windshield.  You got it right on the previous CFD E124 and you show a picture of the real E79 on your website.  Yet another release that isn't worth a cent in my opinion.  You wasted all that effort on an improved pump panel only to screw up the cab.  Just compare the photos on your website of 79 and 124 and tell me how someone missed the paint and chrome strips that one model has but both should.

John may add more to this post, but simply put, mistakes were made. We have admitted it. Please look at the Latest News on the Code 3 website (or 6/12 newsletter), where John talks about some of this, though the E79 is not specifically mentioned. We are taking steps to improve future models.

All comments are right about the Chicago L-15.  It was simply missed in the final review.  To explain the Layout Sheet is the first pass at the decoration of a model.  In many cases the Layout will be revised as many as 12 to 15 times to get everything correct before it goes to the Sample stage which is the actual decorated model.  The sample iks alos reviewed for correct layout, markings and placemnent of many various elements.  It was an oversight in the review.  There is a tendency to zero in on the elements that were issues during the Layout stage to assure the Tampo decorations are correct.  This issue was the overall paint scheme, which was correct in all the Layouts and it was a detail that eluded all the folks reviewing myself included.  Each situation like this will make us better.  Consider that I would never expect to have a license plate actually printed upside down...now it is the first thing that I look for on new models...paint will now be second  on the list.

Currenlty there is a Check list being complied to help both here and at the factory to cover all the issues from paint to tampo to package to improve our attention to detail.  With many at Code 3 being new to this process we have slipped a bit but I can assure you that the future models will be ever better but will things slip thru the cracks I would say yes, not intented but a property of the detailed process.
