International Shipping
When are we going to see better shipping costs for international customers. I would love to buy the Gettysburg, PA Sutphen Pumper (12811-0000) form code 3 but at $39.99 for shipping but I am looking elsewhere for better shipping cost. When I was buying from ebay it was costing less than half that for internation air mail. Times are tight as I am sure you know so why not look at giving us back our shipping benifits for being loyal member to Code 3.
Thanks
Richard
Richard,
John answered this about two weeks ago. I'll paste his response below.

International shipping has been a problem for a number of reasons. The situation is not being ignored though. Currently I am seeking solutions to this problem from a couple of angles but first a comment on why a seemly simple problem remains in questions. Code 3 is a part of Toy Corp as you all know. uses FedEx for all shipping and this is related to a negotiated rate. Shipping through other means does not fit the structure of the warehouse staff who are hard working folks doing a good job with the resources at hand. Code 3 only ships product with a tracking number due to past problems of “lost in shipping” “ didn’t receive” when tracking was not used. I even had a case last year where something was shipped to a customer requiring a signature. I was contacted by the customer telling me that the shipment never arrived. Checking with the shipper I was given the name of the person who signed- a neighbor to the customer. The customer reported that the neighbor signed but left the package on his doorstep and it disappeared! Code 3 had to replace the item. So from cost containment the shipping is done with Fed Ex and always with a tracking number. More important what I am working on to resolve the issue:
1.) Working with the Warehouse management to see if we can at least band two or more models together to create one package and ship as one thus a significant saving. This can only be done if the units are the same size boxes.
2.) Establishing Dealers in that order quantity thus a savings in the freight charge. If this can be done we will have a location where orders can be placed and save substantially on the freight for individual orders.
This does not solve yet but that will be addressed too. Though we have not resolved the issue it is being studied. I know this has been a long time in the works so a little more patience and we may solve this soon.
