My father just passed and has an enormous collection of fire trucks, firemans gear and tools. His wishes were for the collection to be sold to one or just a few collectors and not completely broken up. There are over a thousand pieces. Our finished 900 square foot basement serves as the Fire truck sanctuary. It is filled with display cases and shelves whick showcase his collection of mint condition fire engines and accesories. Most of the collection is Code 3 but there are also some rare and unique engines that are not. If you are or know someone who is interested I can be contacted on here or on my cell at 410-917-0691(Shane). (Serious inquiries only please) I am an active duty Army Warrant Officer and understand the pride behind this collection. I travel the world as the Army needs me and do not have the space or ability to maintain this collection for him. I have a list of item descriptions and photos as needed. Feel free to contact me for them. I will try to compile a listing or model numbers as soon as possible.

Sorry for your loss. That indeed is a very large collection. I truly hope you find someone who can help you out, keeping this collection together. You have many Thousands of dollars in that collection, so be careful that you don't get cheated though.

That is a very nice collection.  I think you will have a tough time finding one or even two people that will want to pay you what that collection is worth.  I think you should keep that collection and keep in the family for years to come.  Brian

I'am with Brian, keep the collection.
If you sell it maybe you get regrets later.

I am a small collector compared to yours with only about 150 Code 3 trucks.  I also agree with Brian.  Keep it in the family somehow.  If you try to sell it, people will only want certain things and want to buy at a "cheap" price.  They may buy the items at a lower price, then break it up and piecemeal it out on eBay or other auction sites.  Then it would be against your father's wishes, "being broken up".  There is a lot of money involved here as well as a lot of sentimental value for the family.  John
