Why are we nearing the end of March and there has been only one release?
Because Code 3 is a joke! I am an idiot for renewing my memebership to this once great BUT long dead company. Personally I think it was a pretty big kick in the teeth that the first "new" release was a repaint of the most commonly flogged model they have made to date. I love the old Mack C series rigs, BUT enough already. If your going to use that chassis anymore how about making a midmount ladder truck? They were very common. Its so sad to see this company continue down the path to oblivion. At one time they made the finest fire related diecast collectibles in the industry. They would have been better advised to just close up shop, then to continue to lie to their most loyal customers month after month, year after year. Each week sending Dunkel out to the front with yet another whiny story of why they lied to us again. This is not a recent problem, and it does not surprise me in the least that there has not been another release yet. Maybe Code 3 is shocked that its loyal suckers didnt immediately buy up all of these way over-priced, boring, green and white Macks? I for one would love to see another company step up and do what Code 3 used to be so good at. Providing a very accurate and attractive collectible that people actually want to buy, and keeping peoples interest by releasing more than 1 tired repaint in 2 years. The fire service is full of a great variety of apparatus, surely they can do better for us the collector, and might I say their most important customers by doing something other than lie. The alienating of their most loyal customer base is hurting this company more than their boring releases. I have talked to many collectors that are so sick of this same old rhetoric that they now have no intention of returning to Code 3 for anything. I am quickly approaching that same stance.
jc401 is so right!
They want me to renew my membership but what might that be good for?
About 60 F.D.N.Y. 1/64 replicas in my collection confess that I was a fan of these amazing little trucks. But I am not a fan of weekly new but boaring stories that contend nothing.
If new models out of new tools mean higher prices, well than go ahaed. But stop emidiatly these worthless newsletterbombardement that leads to nothing.
I agree w/ all of you, stop the BS and give us something nice to buy!!!!!! You have awhole list of future releases. Where are they, you told us those 2 months ago, and still no truck! I got my Hagerstwon, but it was still just a repaint!
We just wanna know why everything is kept a secret we are all collectors of code3 and we just think we are getting the run around. If you guys get the models out on time everybody would not lose faith in the company.
Because we as Collector/members don't count
Since I don't really buy all of the new releases, the slow don't doesn't really bother me. But,
I too would like to see a "midshipmount" straight stick aerial ladder truck. Those were the front line ladders before rearmounts, baker towers, platforms and snorkels. If someone knows where they can obtain both sides, front, rear and top view photos of these trucks, please, send them to code 3...especially Mack CF or Sutphen rigs
HOW ABOUT JOHN D REPLING TO THIS INSTEAD OF FOOLISH PICTURES AND THE LIKE.....LETS HEAR IT JOHN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Good luck getting him to respond. You'll be lucky if he responds by the next release.
Im wondering if the Progress CF Mack and the Gettysburg Sutphen will be out by the Harrisburg Expo in may I hope so........
APPARENTLY JD IS IGNORING THIS QUESTION, SOME THINGS NEVER CHANGE AT CODE 3
