I think that until the club has benefits, it should be free.
I THOUGHT I READ IN ONE OF YOUR POSTS, THAT YOU WERE NO LONGER A MEMBER.
My membership ended last June, but I could still access the club pages and get the discounts until this past week. I just think that it should be free for all former and current members until it has SOME benefits.
Basically. It still wasn't worth the 20 bucks though!
I have to agree with donmateo, however painful it might be. But then a thought occured. Clubs are for children. Or to hook someone.
AS A CLUB MEMBER, I GET DISCOUNTS ON THE TRUCKS, I HAVE THE CHANCE TO BUY 2 TRUCKS FOR $15.00 OFF, AND I HAVE A CHANCE TO TO WIN A FREE FIRETRUCK.
Yea.... and as a "club member" I was "given" a chance to "win" the number 1 serial numbered 10-Truck (1-64th and/or 1:32nd scale) to reward my loyalty. But to be rewarded, I had to buy those trucks. My membership didn't mean S--t. Nor did the fact that I had already bought both scales of that truck.... I would have to buy them again to get a third (the number 1) which should have by all rights gone to the first person who ordered those trucks in the first place!!!
Make it so only "Club Members" can comment on here because only "Club Members" know anything about Code-3..??? Good idea, one or two people should keep this a really active board. DOH...
Sometimes, ones sheer logic forces me to retreat. You pay $20.00 annually to belong to a club, where you have to buy things to get a discount? Then, the same discount you are paying for, is offered by the dealers to any and all, even non club members. Where I came from, that was considered a slap in the face. So what was your $20.00 used for? You didnt save anything, because non club members get the same benefit from dealers. You had to buy those trucks, to get a free chance at them. But you had to pay $20.00 to be eligible to get a chance to win them. So there again, its not free. And if you already bought those trucks, such as the guy above did, he had to buy them again. Then he would have a chance to enter a drawing, after paying his $20.00. Shipping costs? You know how many trucks you have to buy, to get free shipping? More than was released last year. Oh, but wait. What about the "workshop sneak peeks"? Not worth $20.00 to me, to see something that probably wont get done anyway.
A club should have some benefits to it, if you join it. I have an idea. How about a free truck when you sign up? Or, how about a nice color multi page catalog or collectors guide? I dont need a membership card, access to a web site that has nothing new in it. Free truck for joining? Maybe.
Everything you mentioned we use to get as a club member.
Free Truck
Multi-page Catalog
Collectors Guide
In addition to:
Chance at drawings for Special Trucks
Member only chances at clearance specials
First Pick on new issues (Instead of the Wholesalers)
And now we don't. So, what's the point? They might as well not have a club at all! It's ridiculous.

Simple enough. No Club. Honestly, anyone who's paid for a membership this year, I have some ocean front property in Arizona I'd like to sell you.
Let's see, for $20 I get a discount on purchases, terrible customer service, slow shipping and access to the member workshop which is updated a couple times a year. For FREE, I get the same discount at Fire and Cop Shop or Past Time Hobbies, shipping within a day of order, tracking info and great customer service. It's a no brainer folks.
