I wanted to place an order for a Chicago Engine 59 DP this afternoon and the shipping was quoted as 54.95 US to Canada for one truck? I guess Code 3 is done as far as I am concerned. Good Grief!
What gives Code 3?

I contacted code 3 when I ordered 2 trucks, and they rectified my shipping to europe back to $12.95 per item.

Happy to report Code 3 made everything right.
Thanks Code 3 and JD!
News like that is good to hear and shows promise with the future of Code 3.
For others with similar problems, what method did you use to "contact" Code 3 as there have been mixed results by a number of members. Your successfull contact method would be of use to others.
Kudos Code 3 and JD.

Unfortunately I jumped the gun in giving my praises to JD and Code 3.
I did receive my two Chicago engine 59 DP's with free shipping to Canada, which I thought was great. I picked them up at my local Fedex today, when I opened them up I was not impressed with the lack of quality control. Both passengers side doors wouldn't close fully. One of the passengers doors fell off due to a broken door pin. The top piece of diamond plate and a small part on the roof has glue smudges on one of the trucks. Also one of the roll up door compartments sticks out and looks like crap, it won't close down all the way. When I compared these trucks to the earlier Chicago engine 102 I bought the two new Chicago engine 59's failed poorly. I am officially finished with code 3 and the garbage firetrucks they are producing and the weekly excuses.
It is a good thing I do kitbashes or I would have no use for this junk!

I was hoping for a happy occasion when I ordered and received these trucks.
I am disappointed in the condition they were in. Maybe in the future you could emphasize to your bosses, the importance of quality control at the factory level. Hopefully Code 3 can resolve these issues sooner than later!
JD,
Has the shipping to Canada been straightened out? I'd like to get the Gettysburg but not if I have to pay almost the same amount in shipping as the truck costs.
And as nice as the Canadian distributor is (met him at the Alberta Fire Chief's show), paying over $100 for the truck is more expensive than ordering it from this site!
Thanks,
Rob
Here is a response from JD from the Question Box:
"Regarding the International shipping issue we have approached a solution from many angles. One of the best will be the developing of Dealers in various locations. Bulk shipping to one location will help to lower shipping costs. Then we can direct members to order thru these Dealers whereby shipping will be less to you as a customer in the local area. Work needs to be done yet but we are getting closer."
Which Canadian distributor? We have not worked out all the details in Canada yet.
