Question re: Bronto Skylift

Much like the aforementioned Pierce mid-mount, there was talk at a recent (last year, I think?) PTH Code 3 Day of a Bronto Skylift. Then-Vice President Scott Schellhase alluded to this model being in the works, and that there were issues with the packaging which prevented it from being released.

Later on, the "excuse" as to why it hadn't been seen yet was that they were having issues with the boom not staying up by itself. This was a while ago as well.

The question: IS there actually a Bronto in production, or is this another "Spartan deal" that never happened?

Supposedly JD has started a post to accumulate questions that he can (eventually) answer.  So for what it is worth Andy, you might want to repeat your question at the segment listed below.  I don't know if it will do any good, past history being what it is, but perhaps it might get you a response quicker if JD actually reviews a post he started.

Topic: Questions Answered Here

This "should" take you right there Andy....

I hope this is of some help to you.

That post was merely the "welcome" to this new forum, made a sticky to keep it at the top and not get lost in the flood of questions that would no doubt follow. Why everyone started replying to it, rather than make their own thread so their question would stick out, I have no idea. Not much that happens around here surprises me anymore.

"JD" did reply to my question about the Pierce mid-mount. Not only that, but he came back and replied to the others who tacked on their non-related questions as replies to my thread as well. I say give him a day or two, and we may see more results.

OK, I see what your saying.  You also answered a question I had asked about quite some time back.  I had noticed a rather testy topic get labeled a "sticky" and thought it was a slam (I honestly never heard that term used like this on a forum... I guess I was out of the loop***).   I initially challenged the "author" of the original posting (John Dunkle) as to why "sticky" was now attached, and later I began to suspect that I had misinterpreted it.  So I added another comment, or post, asking for an explanation (noting that I felt I may have missunderstood) and never got one.

I waited several days and finally figured I would never find out... and up until your reply, I was correct.  I thank you for enlightening me on something I did not understand.  I am sure others probably assumed I was just messing around.

I see that as a missed opportunity by Code3 to clarify something that I, and possibly others, might have seen in a negative way...  In essence, I feel that Code3 passed up on an opportunity to change a Negative into a Positive.

Again... Thanks Andy for your reply.

***  Now I really feel like crap...  I went back to a couple of forums (where I had noticed pins but never checked to see the definition) and find that "Sticky" was represented, just not written out.   Oh Well....  Frown

Not a problem. How's that line go? You learn something new every day.....something like that?

Now, hopefully we can get some insight into the original question....Hey, Mr. Dunkel, do we have a Bronto in the works or what? Inquiring minds want to know! LOL!

I'd like to have it answered, too. That's why I asked it....LOL!

How about it, Mr. Dunkel? Is (or was?) there a Bronto Skylift in the works?

Hi
One more of the oft requested models and one I would love to do to show that I listen and Code 3 wants to circle around the collectors and provide what is desired. but, alas it is not on the 2009 and I doubt it will make 2010 only because there is so much to do first.

So, in other words, "Bronto" was to Scott what "Spartan" was to Orlando. Well, thanks for clearing that up, at least. Hopefully we will see some of both, some day.
