A year or two ago, during Code 3 Day at Past Time Hobbies, it was mentioned that a Pierce mid-mount tower ladder was "being looked at" as a possible release within the next year or two. Have not heard anything about it since.
The question: Is this particular model actually in the works? And, if so, is there any possible time frame as to how long before we see a release of such?

Question, are there any plans to release a new boston piece in any scale?

Yes, Boston has a couple of Pierce mid-mounts, and they would be fine examples for model consideration....even if the officer's side of the body is somewhat "unique" from all the others.

Hi Gents,
Sorry to say that there is no Boston piece in the schedule right now. That does not mean that this will not change. I know that Boston always does well and I am keeping that in mind. In particular with new tools I will keep Boston in the forefront to see if there is a fit. If we do a new tool I am trying to cover as much ground as possible with slight variations to the tool that allows for many more models and cities to be included in a new release.
The line up is something that changes on a regular basis.

Hi,
What happened two years ago was before I was on board. I will speak to a few people to see what was shown and discussed to better answer. At this time I have several suggestions for new tools being considered. A Pierce is on the list but that is all I want to mention until it is firm. I am looking for as many models ( cities) as possible out of any new tool.

In a previous newsletter you said that there is a new FDNY coming.
Can you say when it is coming and maybe reveal what it is going to be and in what scale?

I have worked closely with the Seagrave staff on a new release. Right now we are looking into a model that will give us more models form one tool. I hope to be able to start to announce the new tools in the next few weeks. As said many times I want to have commitment on a project before publishing it.

There is no doubt that a new FDNY is coming. The one ai refered to was a Special Edition but two things happened. The tool being used had been altered in the past and we did not know this until the test shot was done thus setting this back. Continued production problems ( very tight schedules) has also set this back to the beginning of 2009.

So, if I can revisit the ORIGINAL TOPIC for just one minute, which was Pierce mid mounts (sorry, FDNY doesn't run any of those just yet).....
I guess John Dunkel "can't say" if a Pierce MM specifically will ever be released, but that a Pierce of some kind is being looked at for a future release.
Andy, I like the way that sounds. It brings back a little bit of the old mystery and anticipation that used to be behind Code 3, even when O was around.

To the fdnyfan question of an FDNY this year yet the answer is no. For the reasons stated , production schedules and the change to the tool that we were unaware of.

Not a total bummer as the 2009 lineup is in full swing. Many issues resolved, production, though slow, is back on track. So as I get commitment on things I will be publishing a 1st Quarter Tenative List if releases.
