All of my models remain in the domes/boxes that they came in. The main purpose of this is to keep them dust-free. Some day, I hope to have a bigger, better place to live which will enable me to have display cabinets of some sort, and then maybe I'll take them out. But, for now, they'll stay right where they are.
Poll: What do you do with the elements of the Code 3 product after purchase?
i keep them wraped in plastic and inside the cases i discard the boxes
I also keep everything.
I take them out the box and display them in their display case and the boxes I put in storage.
I keep my replicas stored in the packaging they came in. The replicas I display are removed from their bases and placed in a relatively dust free curio cabinet. I rotate my stock and return to the protective packaging those replicas I remove from display. In some cases, I display individual replicas outside of, and away from the curio cabinet in their own display cases (best thing Code 3 came up with).
Though I have no intentions at this time to ever sell any of my replicas, I do keep the packaging as I feel it will increase the value of the replica should I ever decide to sell any. In addition, it would help any buyer if I had the packaging to ship it in as well.
Voted for throwing it away, however I do re-use some of them for use on the rescue shelves. I feel I get more enjoyment with them out of the box as I can (not so easily) move them around in my display cases. Right now, I've got them all in the order they were released, except for the FDNY cases. People are quite amazed when I pull out a ladder and show all the working parts. Then they tell me I really am sick....
I TAKE THEM ALL OUT OF THE BOX. THEY ARE ALL PUT IN A GLASS DISPLAY CASE. I DISASSEMBLE THE PACKAGING FOR STORAGE.
me too. I have a closet full! it gets annoying but it is worth it if i sell them later
I save the plastic displays to put my smaller pieces in the display. like matchbox, racing champs, hallmark, and small corgi's. The rest is thrown out. I display my code 3 pieces in a modified CD/DVD shelving unit, covered by a custom cut piece of plexiglas to keep the dust off of them.
