Can anyone enlighten me as to whether the first model in the Chiefs Edition Series, the Seagrave Engine, had issue numbers?
Chiefs Editions
I checked my list and I don't show a serial number for my Chief's Edition # 1 but I do have one for the rest of the series.
I think he meant the ammount made and distributed, not a reference number.
As this was the 1st club issue, and it was made to entice people to join, it had no known issue total.
I beg to differ, mine shows 1250 and according to the Code 3 Collectors Guide Volume 1-3 April 1997 to December 2001 it lists the edition size as 1250.
Thanks Buddy.
I was hoping for that response. I was concerned I may have been dudded as there was no edition number and the seller was not sure.
Yes, C3 records show the edition size was 1250
I stand corrected then.
I do wish though, that before people ask a question, that they would check the code 3 site first.
Likewise, people like me should check the code 3 site before giving an answer. (LOL)
As highly sought after as that truck became, I wonder how many members the club actually had, back in it's "prime"?

Remembering back to the ATEV board, when Jeff Hawkings ran it, he asked Code 3 numerous questions, all of which were unanswered.
The amount of club members was one of those questions, another one I remember, was how many more seagrave pumpers were made over the initial 5,000 per engine #, when they started selling them in Canada through 1st choice.
See, code 3 was as secretive then as they still are today.
