Yes or no?
Topic: Should JD be allowed to continue to miss release dates, fail to update the workshop with anything substantial, send out useless weekly emails, and ask polling questions that have nothing to do with what cities the members want?

I have to vote no.

Jesus, get a grip guys. They're frigging TOYS.

So, let him stop sending out the weekly emails. That will at least give people less to gripe about. But if he's not allowed to do what you put in the title, then what?
There's nothing we can do about it, and I think there is a bit that is completely out of JD's hands, but really, what recourse do we have? Not buying thier product? They have no product to sell.
I would like to see JD come out and say when the next bunch of releases are going to hit the shelves. I have a feeling even he doesn't know, but Code 3 better get on the ball if they're going to get stuff under collector's Christmas trees.

Its about time you lot realised that things have changed, and, as with the club benefits, what coide 3 did a while ago, they do not do now.
I know no-one has stood up and actualy said they they are NOT going to do a monthly schedule, or continue pre releases in the workshop, or whatever, so because a lot of you are like sheep, you believe this should still happen.
Get real, things HAVE changed, its useless getting your lower intestines twisted over nothing, I personaly, prefer things this way.
(oh, except for the missing club benefits, which were invaluable to me in europe)

The letters are usesless, and my idea was 2 releases a month, 2 FDNY a year, but since we cant even get one rig out a month, they should call them quarterly releases!

I haven't seen Dunkel come out and say that the release schedule has been switched back to a quarterly scehdule, so until then, I am going to assume that we are still in a month to month mode.
I'd bet dollars to donuts with all the turmoil in China, changes to the industry, incresaed costs, changing factories, that Code 3 has no idea when stuff is going to get done.

I don't like how JD communicates via his notices but...... I strongly agree with what Rescue 42 has to say....
"What's the alternative? Firing Dunkel? What would that accomplish? If anything that would put everything back at square one.So, let him stop sending out the weekly emails. That will at least give people less to gripe about. But if he's not allowed to do what you put in the title, then what?

Seems like a lot of diecast releases from both American and foreign companies are being delayed. I guess the Chinamen are having a lot of production "issues," and that's probably beyond JD's or Code 3's control. Where I am getting frustrated is the lack of information about upcoming releases or anything else Code 3 is doing. I had high hopes, given Mr. Dunkel's enthusiasm, for the weekly "news"letters but I could fit all the "news" that's appeared in all the letters he's written into this post and have room left over. Usually there's a lengthy rumination about something that has almost nothing at all to do with diecast. Once he's exhausted all his space, there are photos of models that were released months ago. Of course, when you have no new releases or you're not allowed to publish any "classified" information about them but still have to crank out a weekly newsletter, I guess you have to end up cheerleading on the basis of a thread of real information, or talking about the weather, your family, your travels across this great land, or how much fun it is to get paid to travel around, visit firehouses, take photos and write "news"letters....etc. John seems like a very nice guy but I'd rather have no newsletter if there's no news.

C3 could be producing in the U.S. to help the economy, and yes I know it's in china because of cheap and child labor.
permalink
The small amount of product Code 3 produces each year would do absolutely nothing for the economy. Besides, the labor costs alone would drive the prices of Code 3 pieces through the roof.
permalink
Like I said, I know why they do it, it's just to bad, and plus anything would help the economy at this point!

Nobody is being hurt if Code 3 is late in sending out the new releases, I would rather have them late then not at all.
