This board is a frigging mess
Code 3 as a company deserves no credit at all for this mess.
your completely right
Thanks for that Captain Obvious.
But the reason Code 3 uses it is because Lefora doesn't charge to use forums. There should be some moderators to clean up posts and move them to appropriate categories.
Are you going to contribute something of value or are you going to criticize from the veil of anonymity?
"STAY BETWEEN THE LINES......OBEY OR BE DELETED....."
Oh well, whatever.
He's anonymous cause he doesn't know what the hell's goin' on, and wants to criticize everyones actions, the mess is partially C3's fault cause you can't expect people to do something that you'd think was an obvious courtesy without being helped! So, guest, if you're not gonna say something constructive, not obvious, and somewhat intelligent, don't waste our time and the forums space!!
Hear the biggest baby cry,go to your mommy so she can change your diper.
If you're really a "though" guy,why are you anonymous, are you afraid i'll find you and haunt you?
I'am also active on the SH 4 board, maybe when I find you I fire a torpedo up your ass.
In case you haven't figured it out SH stands for Silent Hunter.
Keyboard epilepsy, common amongst the immature and weak. Happens when the gray matter upstairs can't keep the filangies going straight. Either that or he has a Walmart Mac that had spell check deleted as an option.
I'm going back to firepics.net......
Hey "Guest", please come out of the closet, pretty please?
Why should he/she, they will only use a screen name like you do, you are just as annonamous as guest!!!!
Why should he/she, they will only use a screen name like you do, you are just as annonamous as guest!!!!-c3po
Exactly. So in this case, what difference does a screen name really make? Look at some of the posts from those who do have screen names. Talk about changing diapers.
"Guest" was making an observation about this forum, and it was just an opinion. There weren't any personal attacks or inferences about anyone, but there is no shortage of either in some of the replies to the original post.
As far as "saying something useful," I think it's one of the more "useful" posts I've seen on here.
just for the record both the Code 3 Website and this forum are being redesigned and reviewed; it is a work in progress. Hopefully the next couple months will show the effort underway. John
The next couple of months I hope gets better jdunk but everybody just has to be patient and things will happen...
Soon after this Board was created, it became more of a waste than a benefit, not only to Members, but to C3 and the hobby in general. True, there aren't the censorship issues nor the infantile demands of Moderators to "cease and desist" when honest, well documented opinions detract from their personal agendas, but the completely disorganized, nonfunctional flow of information here is quite reminicent of the old ATEV Board.
At its' nexus, this Board seemed to be an answer to (or, at least a band aid for) the opinions and complaints registered on other Boards. It now seems that it has become the festering wound it was predicted to become, but Members like me held out hope it wouldn't. Rampant are the childish, immature ravings of the ingnorant or wanna-be adults. There are no answers to be found here.
The almost gimbal-locked company that C3 has become isn't showing any signs of straight line improvement, in fact, in the time I've retreated from participation, it seems to have gotten worse. Let's not pretend that C3 is in a daily fight to return to its' former magnificense, if it were, we'd see things like this Forum improve steadily over time. Instead we see the continued loss of the more inteligent Member, and the increase of innane, non-informed and childish posts from dysfunctional and semi-literate dolts who can be coddled with non-facts and quasi promises and feel superior in some fashion.
Gone are the organized, informational, intelligent discussions of how to make the models better, or what kinds of improvement Members would enjoy. Today instead we have wants and demands from the fringe and fewer and fewer logical ideas with factual information backing up the presentation.
Surely, there must be an end to this playtime. There must be an answer to the question: "When does it end?" It can only end when we all decide we've had enough.
There are no answers here. No question is given the respect of either intelligent proposal or well communicated response. This situation may come from the fact that no one cares to listen, or this Forum was initiated to remove honest opinions from other Forums without care for the information it might develop.
I, for one, am sick and tired of hearing "the next couple of months", or "Let's see" as the mantra for the inept. It's time for C3 to fish or cut bait. Addressing the issues which have developed over time is not a major undertaking. It simply requires good effort, honest input, direct answers to questions and the ability to admit when one doesn't have all the answers.
There are still Members who hold out for the needed improvements and participate with the best of intentions, but they are stymied at most every turn by the continuing nonparticipation of those who said they opened this Forum to EXCHANGE information and ideas. Let the Forums go to the kids, the syncophant followers of those with agendas and those willing to accept the secrecy, deciet and misinformation perpetrated by manipulative corporations. That's all they're worth anymore. The days when real people with scruples, education and respect ran things are gone.
One-One-Oh to Brooklyn K ... It might've made an impact in the past, I hope it has an effect on the future

Good post ffmartin and you're right on the money. Code 3 started this board but very rarely has any input. They throw out a couple polls here and there and that's it. Personally I'm tired of the non-information, both here and in the no news newsletters. I think they would be better off shutting this worthless site down and doing the same with the newsletters until they actually have news to release.
Personally, I think all this board ever was, was a cheap way to do R&D. In between the hovercrafts, the converted beer trucks and the one-off ladders, are actually a few gems. The intention was good, but unfortunately, this board has de-evolved into back and forth text messages of what rigs are "cool" and "i'd buy it" with little to no substance whatsoever. Look at Fireengines.net. Some of the best, intellegent, on-point discussions about Code 3, the diecast industry, and the collecting community that you're going to find on the internet. Ever wonder why most of the people who post in FE.Net don't post over here? Mr. Martin hits it right on the head, this is simply a disaster of a board with little to no value to anyone who's seriously into collecting diecast replicas.
I doubt if they'll actually pull the plug on this board, as long as people post about what cool rigs they saw on YouTube or have endless snakes of "LOL" or "thats cool" The serious people will simply walk away, as most have, and this board will fade to memory for Dunkel and crew.
