I am a west coast boy. But the way I see it FDNY foundation buys a big portion of the production runs of it's rigs that are made into models/toys to sell to local and FDNY fire fans across the world. If more fire department would realize the good public relation behind making of replica fire truck from their respected department I think more would jump on board. I believe in 2006 Code3 made Pierce truck for an Iowa Fire department where a larger amount of the sell went to a fund for injury firefighters or scholarship for firefighters children in Iowa. It is just like collecting patches from varies fire departments, it hard. Some the issues is security in this post 9/11 era.
The only think I do not like is that there is not too many uniquely painted trucks in the average stationhouse in NYC. The graphic do get a little old after a while.
