Well for me I guess its number one. Well that is how it started anyhow. My problem now is that courtesy of the "old" Code 3 site I've made a couple of very good friends who reside in the USA and how have been kind enough to take me into their homes and show me the real rigs. Yikes only last Saturday I was delighting in meeting the real FDNY Squad 61 having bought the DP version during my last trip to New York during a very cold January 2006.
To date I can claim to have seen 31 of the Code 3 models that I own in real life. It can be an expensive hobby this one !!!!!!
Mr D, if you read this maybe you'd like to contact me in person, there are a couple of matters that I'd be delighted to discuss in person with you. The choice is yours. Andy
Poll: What is the most important factor in collecting miniature fire replicas?
i would say it is a mix between 1 and 3 for me although my wife would probably vote for number 4

Mr. Dunkel. In all respects to your seaching in what collectors would like to see I would suggest that you visit or become a member of the various collecting fourms that are not associated with the Code 3 fourm. You might have already done so, but if not, I STRONGLY Encourage it. One great place to start is Googleing for comprehensive reserarch and knowledge on the aspects of firefighting appratus collectables and another is eBay. Believe me... most of the collectors were hooked at first with Code 3. 1/64 scale is highly desired as is 1/32. The question collectors are asking is... Is Code 3 Willing and Able to produce the products they would like to see?
There are Many New firefighting appratus that have been delivered to major fire departments especailly FDNY as Seagrave is in production of the NEW Maurder II and has delivered. A Total diferent concept of the old Seagrave model.
Food for Thought and digest it for the good health of Code 3.
With ALL Respect,
Robert Manly
Hey Rascal,
I sent You a private message. In short, I am curious what Department that White Engine is from? Hope to hear from You.

Hi John Dunkel, First of all, thank you for all your help in assisting me with the problem of accessing the forum. I retired five years ago and one of my retirement gifts was a "Corgi" Seagrave Open Cab
tractor drawn aerial ladder truck. At that time, I only thought the "Franklin Mint" sold replica fire apparatus. Shortly afterwards, I started collecting code 3 and other brands. I collect diecast fire apparatus because they are not all the same. Some have characteristics that others do not. Even the
F.D.N.Y. pieces have small differences that make that piece unique.
I would personally like to see Code 3 , release a "Straight Stick, Midship Mount" aerial ladder truck,
in 1/64 scale, with a Mack CF, Mack C, Sutphen, or American LaFrance Cab, on a single rear axel chassis. I'm am certain that other Code 3 members would purchase a unit like this. I don't know of any fire departments in my area that still use these ladder trucks, but somewhere, there has to be photos available.
Thanks for reading this.
