I was looking at my 1/64 Calgary Oshkosh Airport Crash Truck Certificate. It doesnt have a number on its blank but has in red letters PRESIDENTS PROOF.
What is this??
No reply yet??
I have a Diamond Plate Chicago Engine 46 also without number but with PRESIDENTS PROOF letters.
Can anyone tell us about??
Yes, I can ...and will!
Congradulations!! You are the lucky owner of (typically) 1 to 4 pieces that used to go before "The Man" Arnie Rubin! (Great Man, Great Personality and Great Care of His Customers!) Basically, those apparatus went before Him for Final Approval before shipping to the customers. If He looked at it and gave it a Thumbs Up, then THOSE specific models received the "PP" Certificate. Out of 300+ pieces of Apparatus, I have only 2 "PP" Certs. I personally don't know if it would fetch more for resale, but it certainly means something special to me. Personally, I wouldn't sell them. Furthermore, I do not know when or if the "PP" Certs have stopped being put in the models. Both of the above mentioned Apparatus are older, as is my Kentland and the other piece. They may or may not have stopped issuing PP Certs. Hope this helped!
Are these 1 to 4 pieces extra or do they belong to the edition quantity??
Honestly, I have no idea. I have seen on a very few older Apparatus 3,005 or some odd number, but I really do not know. Not sure if I would make a huge difference. Additionally, I do not know if they are still doing "PP's".
