I like to see a Charleston,SC memorial piece. They did a Worcester, Ma engine dedicated to the Worcester 6 in a LOW quantity and it was a huge hit.

How about something from the Mpls/St. Paul area, and I am also including the surrounding cities. We have a lot of nice looking rigs here. I would send in photos but to whom and what exactly of I don't know.

That can be solved by asking Touchstone for permission.

How about Baltimore City Engine 23 and Truck 2 either the former Seagrave or the new Pierce Truck. I thought this would be a great station set.

I think it was discussed a long time ago when code 3 was going to do the tillertruck from the movie, THEY WERE NOT GIVEN THE LICENSING RIGHTS !

How about a release from the Capital City of each of the 50 states of the
United States of America ... like has been done with the Quarter coin.
Make it an Engine & Ladder Set.

I like that idea... do a '50 state' collection...
it might be easier to do a 'rescue and engine' set than a ladder set, though... I know that some of the departments don't have ladders... :)

I started this thread because, like many of you in the discussion, I'm tired of seeing FDNY.... I realize that they're the largest FD in the world, but hey... when something like 70% of your models are from FDNY, there's an issue.

I really hate to say this, but it seems as though someone's gone through and said "ok... we have the seagrave molds... let's use them until they break... but hey-we already have licensing rights for FDNY, so let's do the entire fleet!"

There are some beautiful apparatus out there... and there are some changes to existing apparatus out there too... maybe a 'then and now' thing too, kind of like they did with the LAFDs... the old seagraves and the new pierce dashes... I know, for example, that Seminole County, FL no longer has that gaudy paint scheme... they now have a very nice looking black/gold/red scheme... maybe redo them as well... and I would seriously love to see other cities...

How about... (to add to my list above...)
Albuquerque, NM
Salt Lake City, UT
Cincinnati, OH?
Charlotte, NC
Little Rock, AR?

Just to throw a few out there...

I also agree on the volunteer departments... I contacted Code 3 about 5 years ago--the department I was on then was having their 100th anniversary come up. We wanted to do a centennial unit--our rescue rig (yeah, just an ambulance, but hey)... we had to commit to so many units purchased with so much money up front. It may have changed since then, but it was fairly difficult... but volunteer departments would be nice--and even nicer if they could do something better...

One more idea that I just had... some of you out there are familiar with "Helping Our Own"... maybe Code 3 could team up with them and do a "Helping Our Own" engine with proceeds going to that organization, much like they did the Worcester engine or the Iowa Fireman's Association engine...

And oh yes, I agree with doing a Charleston, SC engine--and having the proceeds help those families.... but then, do you start an entire line of "LODD" engines? That seems just a bit "weird" to me...

Just my $0.02...again.

to be honest, lets stick to places we have heard of. I don't buy from towns I have never heard of unless they are truly unique. (e.g. I bought lafayette but didn't even consider Bedford, Hamilton, etc)

Speaking of the Lafayette engine, they now have a beautiful pierce mid mount platform that would make a great set with the engine!!!!

I'll second that motion. Also P'tuh'kt is an option. Some E-Ones and they also have a 1989 Maxim F-Model still in service@E3
